How to change the auto-pause period of a case

Modified on: Wed, 16 Oct, 2024 at 4:26 AM

The auto-pause period stops a case automatically after a certain period. For instance, when an event is over and doesn’t come back until later. This keeps your Casemonitor orderly.

When a case is paused no new messages are collected within the case but already retrieved messages are saved. Paused cases can be resumed at any point in time. Alerts and dashboards connected to the case will be removed.

When choosing the auto-pause period there are multiple options ranging from 1 day to a maximum of 13 months. When the case reaches the end of a selected period, the case is paused.

Auto-pause reminder notification

To ensure that no cases are paused without final user consent or knowledge, Maltego Monitor will generate an automatic auto-pause reminder notification. The notification will be visible:

  • Within the case overview: a red dot on the case tile. This dot indicates that the case will be paused soon. By selecting the 3 vertical dots (More) and then '1d auto-pause period' the auto-pause can be postponed or canceled.
