Maltego Evidence currently supports data collection from the following networks: TikTok, Instagram, Telegram, Odnoklassniki, VKontakte, Facebook, Youtube and Twitter. You can temporarily disable networks manually or add new network modules.
How do I temporarily disable a network?
For your work, it may be helpful to hide unused networks to make the overview in Maltego Evidence more clear. It may also be that data collection on a particular network is not working and you therefore want to (temporarily) disable it.
To disable a network, click on the gear icon in the upper right corner of the screen. Then click on "Networks" in the menu on the left to display all currently available networks.
Overview of all networks
You can see that in the image above the Odnoklassniki and VKontakte networks have been disabled. By clicking ? you can deactivate another network. By clicking ✔ you can reactivate a deactivated network.
Why can't I permanently remove a network?
Deleting a network would mean deleting all data associated with the network, i.e., all profiles, comments, survey requests, etc. It is difficult to predict what impact this would have. In order to preserve already collected data, we only allow networks to be disabled, which means that the networks cannot be used for future data collection.
How do I add a network?
To add a new network you need the corresponding module as a ZIP. You can either get this from us in the course of a test phase for new networks via Github, or you can program it yourself in Python. If you are interested in programming your own module, feel free to contact us at support@freezingdata.de to talk about the implementation.
You can add the module by clicking "Add custom network". A window opens where you can customize the network name, the package name, as well as the icon. By clicking on the "Save" button, the network is added.
